Nabeel K. Basit is an Associate at Lyons, Snyder & Collin, P.A. Mr. Basit’s practice consists of Marital and Family Law matters, including but not limited to, divorce, child support, child custody, alimony, paternity, modification actions, enforcement actions, and relocation actions. In addition, Mr. Basit is also directly involved in the firm’s Criminal Law practice.
Prior to joining Lyons, Snyder & Collin, P.A., Mr. Basit was an Assistant State Attorney in both Broward County and Collier County, Florida. As a prosecutor, Mr. Basit tried nearly 40 jury trials, dozens of non-jury trials, and handled hundreds of substantive motions, including Stand Your Ground Motions. Additionally, Mr. Basit held the position as the sole Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Prosecutor in all of Collier County. It is this vast experience in the courtroom that allows Mr. Basit to aggressively represent his clients.
Nabeel is a South Florida native, growing up in Hialeah and Miami Lakes. Mr. Basit earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then went on to receive the prestigious Soia Mentschikoff Scholarship to the University of Miami School of Law, graduating Cum Laude. While at the University of Miami, Mr. Basit was a member of the Psychology, Public Policy & Law Journal and awarded a H.O.P.E. Fellowship. He was also the one of the co-founders of Project No One Leaves-Miami.
